Kirk Banks - Senior Engineer

Kirk is a Senior Engineer at SearchPilot whose love for software development started when he was just 8 years old programming in BASIC on his Atari 800xl.

Graduating directly into professional software engineering roles, Kirk began by developing desktop applications in Visual FoxPro for patient record systems before moving on to engineering backends for huge distributed platforms with tens of thousands of concurrent users. He has worked for some of the largest and well-known companies, including Vodafone, Google, and the NHS.

Having formerly founded and been CTO of a digital agency focusing on SEO and software development, Kirk brings industry knowledge and expertise to go with his engineering experience. His core skillsets include massively scalable software architecture, backend software engineering, cloud-native development, and proficiency in many languages, with a particular liking for Go (GoLang). He is also skilled in using Docker, databases, networking, and more.
